Ingredients:
500 g apples
1 tbsp honey
2 lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  • Peel the apples, chop them into pieces and put them in a blender. If you have homemade unsprayed apples, it won't matter if you just wash them and add them with the peel. In fact, apple peel is very healthy containing most of the fiber and many other valuable nutrients.
  • For a sweeter taste, add a teaspoon of honey to the blender. Sweet apple varieties already contain a sufficient amount of natural sugar, so there is no need to overdo it with additional sweetening. However, one teaspoon of honey can complement the taste of the sweet spread.
  • Finally, add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a little bit of lemon juice. If necessary, you can also add a little bit of water (up to 1dcl). Mix everything together for about half a minute, and the spread is ready.

Unlike the traditional preparation when the jam is cooked for a long time, this healthier and simpler version takes only a few minutes. You can use it for spreading on bread or as a side dish to other meals. The spread can be stored in the refrigerator, in a closed container, for 5-7 days.

A bonus recommendation is to combine apple spread with Greek yogurt. Give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. :)
